Thanks Noirin. Yes Blake's poem is disturbing. As I say I'll talk about roses in June, sick and healthy!

Wonderful poems - especially grateful for the memory of Eliot's "April is the curellest month ..."

It's put me in a sombre mood, reminding me of this poem by William Blake:

Of Rose, thou art sick,

The invisible worm

that flies in the night,

In the howling wind:

Has found out thy bed

Of crimson joy,

And his dark secret love

doth thy life destroy.
